Best Buy Effing Sucks
September 17th, 2007
I finally got my laptop back.
Which means that I’ll probably be blogging more, commenting on your blogs again, actually returning my qbee trades… you know, good stuff like that. I miss it.
What did best buy fix? NOTHING.
Story: They kept it for 6 weeks, couldn’t replicate any of the problems I’d reported (flickering screen, jumpy mouse, problems with system standby… basic stuff. I also said I wanted the casing fixed where it was dented, which would require it being sent in to sony. I said ok and I didn’t care I just wanted it fixed.) When they called to tell me it was ready, the cost due was nothing. I assumed that meant that my warrenty covered everything. Amazing considering it’s a factory warrenty and it wasn’t a hardware problem: the laptop got bashed.
When my mom actually got to best buy, it turns out the cost was nothing because they didn’t fix a thing. They aparantly hadn’t backed up the computer yet eve, even though I’d paid for it to be done when I left my laptop with them. She called to ask if I wanted to buy an external hard drive because it would take 5 hours + to burn all my data onto DVDs.
Wait, Best Buy, WHAT? You slacked and waited till AFTER we came to pick the computer up to back up the data, just so you could rip me off on a hard drive? I ALREADY HAVE AN EFFING EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE, I DON’T NEED ANOTHER ONE.
They didn’t do anything, I only paid for that backup incase they deleted my data. So now I don’t want it. But they did try HARD CORE to rip me off. I’m getting a refund when I go up there tonight.
This morning, when I went to use my laptop in my journalism class, my keyboard was popped up on two corners. It continues to pop up when I type. The keys don’t always work either, and I’m thoroughly frustrated… I’m not sure what I’ll have them do about my keyboard — but it better be free.
They also didn’t give me my correct power cord back. The one they gave me, though it works for my laptop, is HUGE. The cord I had fit nicely in my laptop case and was easily portable. This one is bulky, heavy, and doesn’t fit in the case.
Yeah, best buy, WHAT. I’m PISSED — and I’m honestly never bringing my computer to you guys again.
